Secretary Little Rock, AR Serves as Secretary for P&LMS performing all secretarial functions for the Chief, P&LMS. Receives and answers routine telephone inquiries or refers to appropriate staff. Keeps the calendar for the Service Chief, schedules appointments, arranges interviews and meetings, notifies all participants and prepares all material for handout. Will also perform secretarial function for the Assistant Chief, Anatomic Pathology and Assistant Chief, Clinical Pathology as requested. Will make travel arrangements for the Chief. Will coordinate all activities for these conferences such as interviews, reports, briefings, correspondence, posters, slides, and related activities. Functions as the Timekeeper for approximately 120 personnel, including physicians, of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service. Records all scheduled and unscheduled leave, overtime, and compensatory time in an accurate and timely manner. Transmits, receives, and acknowledges electronic mail, messages, and facsimiles. Medical Records Technician Fayetteville, AR Under the supervision of the Chief, Health Information Management, the Medical Records Technician – Coding Supervisor has responsibility for carrying out procedures to implement administrative decisions directly affecting the Coding Section. He/she provides HIMS/Business Office/Fiscal Service with information pertinent to the growth of the medical records system as a whole and implementations of design changes to accommodate the coding program expansion. Incumbent will assist in determining staff, equipment and material needs and planning for future needs and developments for the Coding Unit. This Medical Record Technician will serve as first line supervisor to ten coders, assigning workload, monitoring productivity, assessing quality of work, approving leave, developing performance standards, completing performance appraisals, counseling employees, making recommendations for awards as well as disciplinary actions, and resolving problems and concerns brought to him/her by the employees. Incumbent will be responsible for timely input of data for quarterly, semi-annual and annual census for inpatient, fee basis and community nursing homes through the PTF system. Incumbent is responsible to ensure correct procedures are being followed to include reviewing and analyzing documentation of the visits/hospitalization, assigning appropriate ICD-9-CM (diagnostic) codes and CPT (procedure and evaluation and management) codes, entering data into the Patient Care Encounter Program through the DSS/QuadraMed software and Patient Treatment File (PTF), and validating data through process review.

Readjustment Counseling Technician Little Rock, AK Establishes outreach services with military installations and provides transitional assistance program briefings to personnel transition from active duty. Develops and distributes outreach materials, provides training and information to the VA staff, develops and maintains working relationships with a network of service provision agencies and also organizes and participate in a myriad of community activities. Provides a wide range of support for outreach services typical of those less difficult and more routine professional tasks that are supportive to work performed by those at a higher-level. Must provide outreach services, referral, and information necessary (to include presentations/briefings and interviews with the media) for the veterans to receive the highest level of services and benefits to the veteran. Prepares and maintains administrative records and reports to meet program guidelines and policies.
